Da Nang Voice is an independent English-language local news publication covering Da Nang and Hoi An: news, public safety, development, food and drink, culture, events and expat life. Have a story idea, a news tip or a correction? Contact the newsroom.
How our stories are made
Most Da Nang Voice news stories are compiled by our news desk from reporting already published by Vietnamese and English-language outlets, official announcements and other public records. Every story lists its sources at the bottom and links to them in the text. We attribute facts, figures and quotes to the outlet or official that published them.
Unless a story says otherwise, Da Nang Voice did not interview the people quoted, did not visit the places described, and did not take the photographs. We never invent quotes, eyewitness accounts, interviews or personal experiences.
What we hold back
Stories involving crime, allegations against identifiable people, deaths, contested claims or a single unverified source are held for an editor's review before publication. We do not name private individuals in crime and accident stories unless there is a clear public reason to do so.
Photographs
We only publish photographs we have the right to use: images licensed under Creative Commons or public-domain terms (credited with author and license), images under the Pixabay Content License, or images supplied with permission. Captions say "file photo" when an image was not taken at the event described and note when it does not show the specific place in the story.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Corrected stories carry a dated note at the top explaining what changed, and the "Updated" time beside the original publication time. We do not silently rewrite published facts.
