Da Nang's Department of Construction has issued a plan that sets 2032 as the deadline for new public buildings and public transport to be accessible to people with disabilities, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 19.

Plan No. 18716/KH-SXD covers 2026 to 2032. The department says it will review regulations and technical standards and build access requirements into how construction investment is managed. Inspections, permits and checks on completed buildings are to carry the same requirements within the department's powers.

For public transport, the department plans to survey the current state of vehicles and facilities, look for ways to improve access, and work with other agencies on free or reduced fares as national rules allow. The target is that by 2032, 100 percent of newly built essential public buildings and 100 percent of public transport vehicles are accessible to people with disabilities.

Why it matters: The plan puts a date on what access commitments will cover in new public construction and public transport. The report does not give a budget, name the buildings or routes to be upgraded first, or say how older buildings and the existing bus fleet will be treated; the 2032 target applies to new construction and to vehicles in service by then.
