Trần Phước Sơn, standing vice chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council, inspected the Chu Lai urban area project in Núi Thành commune on the morning of October 23, Báo Đà Nẵng reported. The project is run by Đại Quang Minh real-estate investment company.

Per the report, the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone Management Board approved the project on October 6, 2025. It covers more than 188 hectares and over VND 18,854 billion in investment, with six sub-zones, over 7,800 apartments and about 27,500 residents, over an expected 7 years and 9 months.

The investor is still completing land and construction procedures and aims to start building infrastructure for sub-zone A in April 2027. Báo Đà Nẵng says land procedures and site clearance are the main obstacles, and Sơn asked the Chu Lai board, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the city's land fund centre and the commune to help clear them. The article also says the target is to start construction at the end of 2026 and does not explain how that relates to the April 2027 date.

Why it matters: The project is one of the city's listed large-scale developments for 2025–2030, so its timeline affects Núi Thành's housing supply.
