Da Nang has completed 101 of the 127 homes it is building or repairing for children of resistance fighters exposed to chemical agents, VOV reported on October 25. That is about 80% of the plan: 57 new builds and 44 repairs. Eighteen of the 31 wards and communes involved have finished their full allocation.
The remaining 26 homes, 19 new and 7 repairs, are under construction. The work is assigned to the Da Nang Military Command, which aims to finish in November 2026, ahead of the city's December 22 deadline and the government's July 27, 2027 deadline.
Thu Bồn commune has the largest share, 21 homes, of which 17 are done. Sông Kôn commune has 15 cases in difficult terrain with poor road access. VOV says the remaining work is concentrated in Sông Kôn, Tây Giang and Hùng Sơn, where moving materials costs more.
The report does not give a total budget. It says government funds are being topped up by local contributions, including labour from Military Region 5 and 60 million VND from the Sông Kôn 2 Hydropower Company for three of the hardest-hit households.
