Da Nang International Airport handled nearly 13.5 million passengers between January 1 and September 30, 2026, according to figures from the airport reported on October 14 by Bao Da Nang. That is 16% more than the same nine months of 2025 and about 78% of the airport's full-year plan, which leaves roughly a quarter of the target for the final three months.

Flights grew more slowly than passengers. The airport recorded more than 79,000 takeoffs and landings, up 13% on last year and also 78% of the annual plan. Cargo and mail passed 31,000 tonnes, up 5% and 76% of the plan.

The report also cites two rankings: 75th in the world at the 2026 Airport Awards, up nine places from 2025, and a top-five spot in the 5 to 20 million passengers a year category at the Routes Asia 2026 awards.

Why it matters

Passengers are growing faster than flights, which suggests fuller planes rather than just more of them. The report doesn't split the total between domestic and international travelers, and it doesn't list routes, so it can't say which markets are driving the increase. For anyone flying out of Da Nang in the coming months, the busier-than-planned pace is the figure to keep in mind when booking peak dates.
