Da Nang International Airport has been shortlisted for the Routes World Awards 2026, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 22. A Vietnamese-language report from the same paper says the airport was nominated in the category for airports serving 10 to 17.5 million passengers a year, and attributes the nomination to Aviation Week. The two reports describe the award slightly differently, and neither gives a ceremony date or says who the other finalists are.

The papers say the category recognises work on route networks, aviation marketing and partnerships with airlines.

The airport's figures, as given in the reports: 15.29 million passengers in 2025; 8.64 million in the first half of 2026, up 16.3 percent on a year earlier; 43 destinations; partnerships with 11 more airlines since the start of 2025. As of October, it had passed 14 million passengers and handled more than 76,000 domestic and international flights this year.

Being shortlisted is not a win. The result has not been announced.
