Da Nang has handed each of its communes and wards a land-use quota for the rest of the decade. Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 24 that the People's Committee issued Decision No. 4843, effective from October 22, allocating land-use targets to 2030 to the city's commune-level units.
The targets cover agricultural land, including rice, annual and perennial crops, forest, aquaculture, livestock farming and salt-making. They also cover non-agricultural land such as rural and urban housing, defence and security land, offices, public works, production and business sites and public land. The high-tech park has its own targets.
The report does not publish hectare figures for any ward or commune. It says the Department of Agriculture and Environment will guide and inspect implementation, review the quotas and propose changes if plans are adjusted.
Commune-level authorities must manage land within their assigned targets, review requests to change land use, and step up compensation, resettlement and site clearance.
