Da Nang's Party Standing Committee issued Resolution 20-NQ/TU on October 16 approving a draft scheme to rearrange some commune-level administrative units, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 17. The resolution followed the Party committee's fifth meeting on October 15.

The committee told the city People's Committee to refine the draft and carry out the next procedures, and told propaganda bodies and mass organisations to collect public opinion. The report names no wards or communes, gives no number of units affected and does not say when any change would take effect; it refers only to population and natural-area criteria.

Why it matters: Rearranging units changes where residents go for documents and which office handles their address. With no units named, nobody can yet say who is affected; the draft is still subject to consultation.
