Da Nang's Department of Home Affairs has unveiled a digital map and database for managing villages (thôn) and residential groups (tổ dân phố), Dân Trí reported on October 23. It was presented at a training session for commune and ward officials, where Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi praised the initiative.
The tool is meant to give the department and commune-level People's Committees one connected system covering organisation, operations, territory and personnel. That matters after the recent restructuring.
The report says Da Nang now has 1,454 villages and residential groups combined, 2,701 fewer than before, a cut of about 65%. It did not give separate counts for villages and residential groups.
The article did not say how the map is accessed or whether the public can see it.
