Da Nang will prioritise foreign non-governmental aid for green and circular-economy projects, city Fatherland Front chair Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh said at a conference on October 22, VnEconomy reported.
The conference was organised by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations with PACCOM and Canada's Catalyste+. The city's plans include more green-technology transfer, training for officials, small businesses and residents, support for climate adaptation, green livelihoods and climate entrepreneurship, and fewer administrative steps for approving aid.
Two earlier rounds of cooperation involved nine foreign NGOs with total commitments of 132.5 billion dong; the report says those projects are being implemented and disbursed on schedule. The Union also signed cooperation memoranda with a magazine and foreign NGOs at the event; the report names none of the NGOs apart from Catalyste+ and gives no amounts.
Nguyễn Ngọc Hùng of the national friendship union urged Da Nang to define its needs early so partners can help design and test models, and to make projects sustainable after funding ends.
