Da Nang's People's Committee wants the city's economy to grow 13.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2026, according to a notice on the city portal posted on October 12. The notice describes Plan 522/KH-UBND, dated October 9, which sets a full-year target of 11.22 percent growth in gross regional domestic product.
The plan puts numbers on public spending. Disbursement of public investment is meant to reach 88 percent by the end of October, 93 percent by the end of November and 98 percent by the end of December, with the last 2 percent due by January 31, 2027. Departments are to track progress weekly. Projects named as priorities include the Liên Chiểu container terminal, the T2 terminal upgrade at Da Nang airport, Làng Vân, the Bà Nà complex, Danang Downtown and Aeon Mall Hòa Xuân.
Other items residents may notice:
- The plan names the Đa Phước, Hoiana, Cocobay and DAP urban projects among those to be restarted, using special mechanisms to clear land obstacles.
- Construction on free trade zone sites 3 and 4 is scheduled to start in December.
- Every resident is to have had a free health check or screening by December 15, with records on the VNeID app.
- Price-stabilization points are planned for year-end and the 2027 Tết holiday.
Why it matters: These are targets, not results. The notice gives no third-quarter growth figure, so it is unclear how large a jump 13.6 percent would be, and it does not say what happens to projects that miss their dates. The weekly disbursement tracking is the easiest thing to watch.
