The Da Nang People's Committee has approved an investment policy for the infrastructure of Site No. 7 in the city's Free Trade Zone, covering 276 hectares in Hòa Vang commune, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 20. The decision, No. 4785/QĐ-UBND, was issued on October 19.

The site is meant to become a hub for manufacturing, logistics, digital technology and information technology consistent with the zone's master plan. The project's operating term is 70 years from the date the land lease is granted. Total investment is VND3,525 billion (about VND3.5 trillion), CafeF reported, which also notes the project may qualify for land-rent incentives under Resolution 136/2024/QH15 if it is carried out as approved. Neither report names the investor.

The timeline runs in stages: investment preparation from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the fourth quarter of 2027; compensation, site clearance and handover from early 2027 to the third quarter of 2029; levelling and infrastructure from late 2027 to early 2032; and marketing the site to secondary investors from the fourth quarter of 2028. The Free Trade Zone as a whole covers about 1,881 hectares across seven non-contiguous sites.

Why it matters: Site clearance usually affects residents and farmland, and the schedule suggests nothing will operate on the site for several years. Details on compensation and affected households were not in the report.
