Da Nang's Department of Science and Technology is asking residents to vote online for the city as a "livable city" before voting closes on Tuesday, October 20, according to Báo Đà Nẵng on October 17.
The vote is one category of the Vietnam Smart City Award 2026, which the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) evaluates and presents. The department sent Official Dispatch No. 7215/SKHCN-CNTT asking agencies, local authorities, businesses and residents to take part. The paper says voting is online, open to people in every province and city, and done by choosing Da Nang on the organizers' voting site, binhchon.smartcitiesvietnam.com. The award has run annually since 2020.
The report presents the vote as a way to promote the city's image and its digital transformation work, and ties the "livable city" goal to Politburo Resolution 43-NQ/TW of January 24, 2019. It does not say when the award ceremony will be held, what the prize is, or how results will be announced.
