Da Nang's Military Command on October 19, 2026 appealed to residents, veterans and witnesses for information about soldiers killed in the 1968 Tet Offensive around Hòa Cường and Trung Lương–Cồn Dầu, in central Da Nang, Tuổi Trẻ reported.

The appeal concerns Battalion 1 (R20) of Front 4 Quảng Đà. According to the report, the unit was ordered on January 30, 1968 to attack targets in the city, including the Corps I command post, and was held up at the Cẩm Lệ river. It suffered heavy losses on February 1, and more than 80 soldiers broke out toward Gò Nổi that night. The command puts the dead at roughly 250 to 450 across the Corps I headquarters area, Hòa Cường and Trung Lương–Cồn Dầu, and says burial places have not been determined.

It is part of the "500 Days and Nights" campaign. Ward military commands have been asked to review records of soldiers already recovered and of those still unaccounted for. The command notes that some remains may have been buried by local residents or revolutionary base members, and others collectively by opposing forces on the outskirts. Anyone with information can contact the nearest local authority or military unit.

What is not reported: exact burial sites, or how many men are confirmed missing. The leads still need verification.
