Da Nang's Fatherland Front Committee on the morning of October 23 launched support for removing temporary and dilapidated houses, together with the 2026 "For the Poor" peak month, Báo Đà Nẵng reported. The event was broadcast online to wards and communes.

A review found more than 5,700 temporary or dilapidated houses in the city that need rebuilding or repair. Between 2023 and 2025, Quảng Nam and Da Nang together mobilised support for over 3,500 houses. At the launch, agencies, businesses and individuals pledged nearly 11.5 billion dong.

Beneficiaries are poor and near-poor households, policy families, people with merit, relatives of martyrs and ethnic minority residents in hard-to-reach mountain areas. Organisers cited high transport costs for materials and households lacking eligible land, paperwork or money for their share of the cost as obstacles.

Front chair Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh asked agencies to speed up and urged that fundraising be voluntary, with funds used transparently. The report gives no start or end dates for the peak month and no 2026 house target.
