Cargo handled at Da Nang Port rose 9.3% in the first nine months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, reaching nearly 74% of the annual target, according to Da Nang Today on October 16. Container volume grew 9.24% over the same period.

For the full year, the port is aiming for cargo throughput of more than 17 million tons, consolidated revenue of more than 2 trillion dong and consolidated pre-tax profit of more than 580 billion dong. The report says operations stayed stable despite swings in exchange rates, fuel prices, freight rates, shipping schedules and international trade policy, and that the port responded with a range of measures, which it does not describe.

Why it matters

The port, with Tiên Sa as its main cargo-handling area, is a gauge of how much trade moves through the city. The report does not give the tonnage handled so far, and the 74% figure is the port's own measure against its own target, so it should be read as a progress marker rather than an independent ranking.
