Da Nang is reclaiming 190 state-owned apartments in three aging blocks it considers unsafe, so it can demolish and rebuild them, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 12, 2026. Decision No. 4598/QĐ-UBND took effect on October 7.

The affected households:

  • Hòa Minh apartments, Thanh Khê ward: 150 households.
  • Thuận Phước apartments, Hải Châu ward: 35.
  • Lâm đặc sản Hòa Cường apartments, Hòa Cường ward: 5.

Residents must hand over their flats and move out within 60 days of receiving the decision. Until they are resettled, or have bought or rented a flat under the approved plan, they can stay in temporary housing at the western dormitory project in Hải Vân ward or get help renting elsewhere. They may also qualify for moving costs, rent support and other assistance under the city's compensation and resettlement rules.

The report doesn't say when the blocks will be demolished or how long rebuilding will take.

Why it matters: this is the second round of evictions from these blocks. In July the city ordered 280 other state-owned flats in the same complexes vacated. Households who receive the decision now have two months to move. Hải Vân ward is a long way from Thanh Khê and Hải Châu, which will matter for work and school runs.
