The Da Nang Traditional Arts Theatre will take tuồng, Vietnam's classical opera, to France next week, Báo Đà Nẵng's English edition reported on October 22.

The troupe is part of the 2026 Vietnam Theatre Week in France, themed "Encounters" and running October 24 to 31. The paper says the week is organised by Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnamese Embassy in France, as part of the Vietnam Days in France 2026 programme, and marks 50 years of Vietnam–UNESCO relations.

The Da Nang performers will present three excerpts: "An Old Man Carrying His Wife to a Festival", and "On Dinh Slays Ta" and "Kim Lan Crosses the Mountain Pass", both from the classic play Sơn Hậu.

Other parts of the week include water puppetry, spoken drama, contemporary dance, chèo and cải lương, plus professional workshops and a book on Vietnamese theatre for French readers. The report does not name the venues or cities, so audiences should check with the organisers before planning to attend.
