Da Nang's People's Committee has approved the task of drawing up a general plan for Đắc Pring commune to 2050, under Decision 4747/QĐ-UBND, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 20.
The planning area covers more than 41,248 hectares, and the commune is projected to have about 4,815 residents by 2050. It borders Laos and, the report notes, has a sensitive defence and security position. The plan casts Đắc Pring as a forestry economic centre and a growing area for valuable medicinal plants, including sâm bảy lá, lan kim tuyến and đẳng sâm, while preserving indigenous culture.
In the short term, the task calls for assessing and zoning landslide-risk areas, relocating residents from dangerous locations, developing OCOP product chains and completing essentials such as roads, boarding schools and telecom networks. Longer term it points to forest conservation, a carbon economy, ecotourism and cross-border trade through the border route. The commune People's Committee leads preparation, and the Department of Construction guides and appraises it.
The report gives no budget, no milestones before 2050 and no decision date.
Why it matters: This is a planning task, not a funded project: it sets the brief for a plan that has yet to be written and approved.
