Da Nang is building a longer-term film agenda around its Asian film festival. Da Nang Today reported on October 24 that the fifth Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF-V) will run from June 27 to July 3, 2027, under the theme "DANAFF - A Bridge from Asia to the World."
The festival plans an "APEC Film Spotlight" and an "APEC Film Forum" to coincide with Vietnam's 2027 APEC year. Its industry programme, DANAFF Industry Days, will be renamed "Industry Connect" and will include a film project market, a screenplay incubator and training for young talent, outlined by Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi.
From October 9 to 13, Da Nang and the Vietnam Film Development Association ran a DANAFF booth at the Asian Contents & Film Market during the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
The city also plans a "Da Nang - A Film Destination" initiative to promote filming locations and local services for production crews. It has approved an investment policy for a Cultural and Film Center costing nearly VND520 billion, and its 2021-2030 master plan includes film studios and post-production centres.
The report gives no construction schedule for the centre and no ticketing or programme details for the 2027 festival.
