The Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center (DISSC) and Manabu Hubs, a startup incubation platform that works across Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam and the wider Asia-Pacific region, signed a cooperation memorandum on the morning of October 16, DISSC announced.
The memorandum names four areas: helping startups enter overseas markets; running incubation and acceleration programmes, training and showcases together; sharing advice on building an ecosystem; and linking companies with international mentors, corporate partners and investors. Manabu Hubs is to open doors through its networks, while DISSC is to select suitable businesses and coordinate the city's startup community.
Four events are proposed for 2027: the Smart City Summit & Expo in Taipei in March, SusHi Tech in Tokyo in the second or third quarter, the VIS Summit in Vietnam in the fourth quarter and RamenTech in Fukuoka, tentatively in October. Selected startups could get priority places, accommodation benefits or booth discounts, depending on the programme. The two sides also discussed, without agreeing, a Manabu Hubs presence in Da Nang.
Why it matters
A memorandum is a statement of intent. The announcement gives no amounts, no number of startups and no selection criteria, and says the specific support will be agreed later. For founders, the practical next step is to watch for DISSC's call for applications.
