Two member schools of the University of Danang have signed memoranda of understanding with Hanbat National University in South Korea, the University of Danang reported on October 19. The University of Science and Technology (Bách Khoa) signed on October 14 and the University of Foreign Language Studies on October 15.

For Bách Khoa, the memorandum covers undergraduate and postgraduate student exchange, faculty exchange, joint training programs, research projects, conferences and access to laboratories and equipment. The Foreign Language University's covers language and culture training, research cooperation, faculty and student exchange, joint seminars and shared resources.

Hanbat's president, Oh Yong-Jun, spoke for the Korean side and said he was confident the partnership would benefit both. Bách Khoa Vice Rector Nguyễn Đình Lâm described the memorandum as a shared commitment to academic exchange and research. The Hanbat delegation also toured the Korean Culture Space at the Foreign Language University.

Why it matters: exchange routes could widen options for Da Nang students. Still unknown: the report gives no student numbers, funding or start dates, and does not say who signed for each side.
