Da Nang's People's Committee has approved a resettlement area in Hòa Tiến commune for people displaced by the North–South high-speed railway, according to an October 15 notice on the city portal. The decision, numbered 4727/QĐ-UBND, puts total investment at more than 380 billion dong.
The site covers about 245,088 square metres, bordered by the Hòa Phước–Hòa Khương road to the north, planned roads to the east and west, and an existing residential area to the south. Work includes levelling the ground, roads, stormwater and wastewater drainage, a wastewater treatment station, power, street lighting, utility trenches and a park. The planning basis is a 1/500 detailed plan approved by the commune authorities on April 7, 2026. The investor is the city's transport and agriculture project management board, and construction is planned for 2026 to 2029.
The notice describes the area as one component of the city's compensation and resettlement project for the rail line, set up under National Assembly Resolution 172/2024/QH15. It says the goal is to protect the lawful rights of people whose land is recovered and to keep pace with construction of the railway.
Why it matters
Resettlement land is where a rail line becomes personal for households. The notice does not say how many households or plots are involved, what compensation they will receive, who the contractor is or when the first homes will be ready. Those are the answers affected residents will be waiting for; they are not in this announcement.
