Da Nang has approved accepting a project called the "City Ecological Road" (Con đường sinh thái Thành phố) in Hội An, valued at 25 billion dong, according to a notice on the city portal published on October 15. Vice Chairman Hồ Quang Bửu signed Decision 4720/QĐ-UBND.

The project comes from Engagement Global gGmbH and the city of Wernigerode in Germany. It covers Hội An Tây and Hội An Đông wards and runs from October 2026 to December 2028. The notice says it will fund observation stations along the bicycle route of the "Eco Road", activities along the route and facilities that raise awareness of protecting natural ecosystems. Its stated aims are to make Hội An more attractive to visitors and to create livelihoods for local communities.

Why it matters

The project is aimed at both visitors and the communities along the route. The notice does not say how many stations will be built, the exact route, how the 25 billion dong is divided, or who will run the stations once they open, so residents along the route will have to wait for those details.
