Honda Vietnam handed over certified helmets to first-grade pupils in Da Nang on the morning of October 19, 2026, the first step of a donation that will reach nearly 50,000 first-graders in the city this school year, according to the city portal and Báo Đà Nẵng.
The ceremony took place at Ngô Mây Primary School in An Hải ward, where 170 pupils received helmets on behalf of first-graders across central Vietnam. Honda ran the program with the Ministry of Education and Training and the Traffic Police Department.
The reports give these figures for the 2026-2027 school year: nearly 50,000 helmets for Da Nang, more than 330,000 for localities in the central region, and about 1.8 million nationwide. More than 1,000 pupils and parents in Da Nang also took part in road-safety training on spotting and avoiding risks.
The company says the aim is a habit of helmet wearing among motorbike riders, with full compliance with national technical standards. It ties the program to the government's goal of no road deaths by 2045.
What is not reported: when and how the helmets will reach the other Da Nang schools, and which schools are included.
