October is the quiet month for Da Nang tourism, and hotels are using it to train staff and rework what they offer, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 14. The domestic summer market has ended and international visitors have not yet returned, the paper said, and hotels surveyed saw guest numbers fall from late September.

Trần Quang, managing director of Grand Signature resort in Hội An Tây ward, said occupancy has averaged 65 percent since the end of September, about 10 points below the year's average. He said the resort is running promotions, adding experiences, and reviewing its services ahead of European and American guests returning late in the year.

Hội An Tourism and Service Company, which owns the Hội An Hotel, runs two training rounds a year, in May to June and September to October, its chief executive Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Lan said. This year it is rewriting its sustainable-tourism standards and plans free guest activities such as baking, cooking, pottery and lantern-making classes. The company also uses the low season to prepare storm and flood plans.

Nguyễn Đức Quỳnh, the chair of the Da Nang Hotel Chapter and general manager of Furama Resort Danang, said the lull is a revenue problem but also a chance to train staff, maintain buildings, develop products and prepare 2027 promotions.

Why it matters: For guests, the report points to new free activities at some Hội An hotels. The report gives occupancy for only one property, so it does not show how the rest of the city is doing.
