The Huế–Da Nang heritage train came tenth in Condé Nast Traveler's list of the world's 20 best train trips for 2026, Tuoi Tre News reported on October 20. The ranking comes from the magazine's Readers' Choice Awards, so it reflects a reader vote. The Huế People's Committee announced the result.
The service, called the Vietnam Central Heritage Connection, launched in early 2024. The trip takes about three hours and passes the Tam Giang lagoon, Lăng Cô Bay and Hải Vân Pass. Two pairs of trains leave Huế and Da Nang stations at 7 a.m., with services in the opposite direction in the afternoon, and both stop for 10 minutes at Lăng Cô Station for photos.
Carriages include seating areas, a communal space with traditional music and dance, and a car selling regional snacks such as bánh mì, bánh bèo and bánh nậm. The magazine lists a one-way ticket at about US$11.
The report notes the route could still improve its services and add experiences to draw more visitors. It gives no ridership figures.
