The Kack Huyn Elderly Care Center in Da Nang's Quảng Phú ward will get a second phase from 2027 to 2029 under South Korea's aid program, according to the Da Nang city portal. Deputy Chairwoman of the People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi met Cho Dang Ho, chairman of the South Korean group International Lotus Village (ILV), on the morning of October 19.
The center is part of the Vietnam Lotus Village complex, which already includes a foreign-language center, a kindergarten and a vocational training facility. The portal says the city has approved 49 ILV-funded aid projects with commitments above 400 million won.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) selected and approved the phase 2 upgrade under its 2027 cooperation program. It adds day care, home-based care and short-term care, using what the portal calls a Korean advanced elderly-care model. The city has approved in writing a share of local budget as counterpart funding and has confirmed which agency will take over the center once phase 2 ends. Thi said the city fully supports the project.
What is not reported: the total budget, KOICA's share and the city's counterpart sum, the number of people the center can serve, exact start and finish dates, and the name of the agency that will run it.
