Da Nang attracted US$681.55 million in foreign direct investment in the first nine months of 2026, about 2.87 times the same period last year, VietnamPlus reported on October 25, citing the Vietnam News Agency. One hundred projects received new licences, worth US$522.2 million. The city now counts 1,162 foreign-invested projects with about US$11.28 billion in registered capital.

Karcher starts phase two

German cleaning-equipment maker Karcher has begun the second phase of its factory at the Tam Hiep Port and Logistics Industrial Park in Núi Thành commune. The phase is worth about 484 billion VND (US$18.73 million) on a 6.26-hectare site. The first phase started operating in July 2024.

Karcher plans to grow its workforce from about 300 to 1,000 within two years, the report says. Executive Vice President Thomar Wolfgang credited the city's investment climate, skilled workers and local government support.

Industrial parks

Tam Hiep covers 417 hectares and has 41 secondary projects, three of them foreign-invested, with about 10.89 trillion VND in registered capital and more than 1,250 jobs. At Tam Thăng Industrial Park, 19 foreign projects worth over US$823.38 million employ nearly 14,000 people, mostly from South Korea, Germany and Hong Kong.

Phan Thái Bình, vice chairman of the city People's Committee, said handing over cleared land with good infrastructure matters more and more. Delays raise costs and risk losing large foreign projects, he said.

Chu Lai economic zone

The Chu Lai Open Economic Zone has 286 projects with about 241 trillion VND in registered capital, according to the report. Within the zone, 262 projects are worth about 161.89 trillion VND, including 67 foreign-invested projects worth 32.7 trillion VND. It employs roughly 45,000 to 50,000 workers.

Nguyễn Hồng Quang, head of the management board, said 14 industrial parks covering 3,462 hectares have in-principle approval. The zone is favouring large, automated projects making high-value exports and limiting high-pollution or processing-only activity.

The city also held investment talks with VSIP, Amazon Global Selling Vietnam and the German Business Association in Vietnam, VietnamPlus said. It did not report any agreements from those meetings.
