The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Da Nang hosted a reception on the evening of October 22 to mark Korea's National Day (October 3), Báo Đà Nẵng reported. Da Nang Vice Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi attended with city officials and foreign missions; Consul General Han Jungil gave the opening speech.

Speakers said Vietnam-Korea investment passed US$100 billion in the first half of 2026 and that trade is expected to exceed the same figure this year. The paper says Da Nang received about 1.46 million Korean visitors in 2025, making Korea its largest international source market, and that the city has friendship ties with nine Korean localities, including Daegu.

The Korean Character Industry Association and Da Nang's culture, sports and tourism agencies signed a memorandum of understanding on intellectual property. The report gives no terms.

Thi said the city wants cooperation with Korea in semiconductors, AI, digital transformation, logistics, education and skilled labour. Planned for 2026 are the "Meeting Korea in Da Nang" conference and a Vietnam-Korea Festival in the city; no dates were given.
