A child-centered community project funded by Korea Food for the Hungry International (KFHI) was launched in Đồng Dương commune on October 16, Báo Đà Nẵng reported.

The first phase runs five years with a budget of more than 5 billion dong. The Da Nang Friendship Organizations Federation and the commune People's Committee are partners, and the city People's Committee approved the project in Decision 4118/QĐ-UBND on September 12.

Preschool, primary and secondary students are the target group. Planned activities include aid for disadvantaged children, school facility upgrades, primary healthcare, clean water and sanitation, and income support for poor and near-poor households.

The report does not break the budget down by activity or name the schools and villages that will be covered first, so how the money will be spread across the commune is still unclear.
