More than 500 doctors, scientists and health workers from Vietnam and abroad attended the Vietnam Rehabilitation Scientific Conference 2026 in Da Nang from October 15 to 17, according to Báo Đà Nẵng.

The Vietnam Rehabilitation Association organized it with Da Nang C Hospital, and it marked the association's 35th anniversary. The program had three overview sessions, 12 thematic sessions and six workshops that give continuing-education certificates. Topics ranged from cardiovascular, neurological and spinal cord injury rehabilitation to geriatric and pediatric care. Speakers covered techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation, high-intensity laser and biofeedback, and the hands-on sessions used gait-training and upper-limb robots, a virtual-reality system and a balance trainer.

Đoàn Ngọc Hùng Anh, deputy chairman of the Da Nang People's Council, said the city wants to become a specialized medical center for the Central and Central Highlands region and invited cooperation on training, technology transfer, digital health and health tourism. Nguyễn Trọng Thiện, director of Da Nang C Hospital, said progress in rehabilitation depends on equipment investment, workforce quality and professional partnerships.

What is still unknown

The report does not say whether any partnerships or investments were agreed during the conference.
