Pensions and social insurance allowances for November will be paid in Da Nang on Tuesday, November 3, Báo Đà Nẵng reported, citing instructions from Vietnam Social Insurance to its provincial offices.
Payments go into recipients' personal accounts, such as ATM cards, rather than being handed out in cash at payment points. Nationally the payout is split over two days so the agencies can check and reconcile data and coordinate with banks. Twenty-one provinces and cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Huế and Khánh Hòa, pay on Monday, November 2. Thirteen, including Đà Nẵng, Hà Nội and Hải Phòng, pay on November 3.
Recipients can use the money once their bank has credited it, under that bank's rules. Social insurance says paying into accounts saves older people and those living far from the centre a trip to a payment point.
Why it matters: Residents who still collect cash should check that they have a working account. The report does not say how cash recipients can switch, so people should ask their ward or commune social insurance office.
