Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk toured Hội An's ancient town on the morning of October 24, part of an official visit to Vietnam running to October 26, Báo Đà Nẵng's English edition reported. Da Nang People's Committee vice chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi and the Vietnamese ambassador to Poland accompanied him.

He visited Cẩm Phô communal house, the Cantonese Assembly Hall and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Tiền Phong adds that his group watched the folk performance "Sắc bùa". A representative of the Hội An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Centre briefed him.

Tusk laid a wreath at the monument to Kazimierz Kwiatkowski (1944-1997), known as Kazik, a Polish architect who helped preserve monuments in Vietnam. The report says his work contributed to UNESCO recognition of Hội An and Mỹ Sơn, and that he was the first to recognise the old town's distinctive value. Hội An was inscribed as a World Heritage Site on December 4, 1999, and a park and monument honouring him were created in the town centre in 2007.

Neither report quotes Tusk from the Hội An stop. The delegation was due to travel on to Hanoi.
