Ten students received Synopsys IC Design scholarships at Da Nang University of Science and Technology (DUT) on the morning of October 22, the university reported. Each scholarship is worth US$500, and the university describes the programme's total value as up to US$20,000.

The 2026 round is the second year of the partnership between DUT, the chip-design software company Synopsys and the VietHope social organisation. The university said about 550 applications arrived from universities across the country and went through several rounds of evaluation. It did not describe the criteria or the selection committee.

Nguyễn Thế Linh, executive director of analog design at Synopsys's US headquarters, said the programme is a collaboration among the company, VietHope and partner universities to support young talent. Nguyễn Văn Triều, head of DUT's student affairs office, said the university will keep strengthening cooperation with businesses in science, technology and engineering.

A scholarship recipient spoke on behalf of the group about what the support means to students, according to the report.
