The 110kV Trường Hải substation in Núi Thành commune has been energised and put into operation, Báo và Phát thanh, Truyền hình Đà Nẵng reports. The Vietnam Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) announced the step on 28 October.

The station is designed for two 63 MVA transformers; this phase installs one. It adds about 0.03 km of 110kV connecting line and five 22kV outgoing feeders, according to the report.

EVNCPC says the substation will help supply the Bắc Chu Lai industrial zone, the Chu Lai–Trường Hải automotive mechanical zone and nearby areas, and take load off the heavily used 110kV Kỳ Hà substation. It is also meant to make the grid more reliable under the "N-1" standard. The article does not give the project's cost or a date for the second transformer.
