The University of Da Nang has opened several new majors aimed at what Politburo Resolution 71-NQ/TW calls strategic technologies, according to a report on the university's news page dated October 22.

The additions are aviation mechanical engineering, high-speed rail vehicle engineering, cybersecurity, smart agriculture and a "talented" foreign-trade bachelor's programme. The university also lists partly or fully English-taught courses, programmes designed with employers, and talent tracks in electronics and telecommunications and artificial intelligence. Scholarships for students in key fields follow Government Decree 179/2026/NĐ-CP, the report says.

Some figures from the article: the University of Science and Technology picked 90 students for its 2026 faculty-pipeline programme, and the University of Economics is offering 22 places in a young-researcher programme that can cover up to 100 percent of first-year tuition for full-time research master's students. The University of Science and Technology is one of four universities chosen for focused investment under Central Steering Committee Conclusion 45.

An unnamed university leader is quoted as setting a goal of reaching the top 150 universities in Asia by 2030, with at least one field in the world top 100.

The report does not give intake numbers for the new majors or say when the first classes start, so prospective students should check the university's admissions notices.
