Da Nang's People's Committee has approved a 400-hectare industrial park in Thăng Bình and Đồng Dương communes, the city announced on October 9. Decision No. 4602/QĐ-UBND names WHA Industrial Development International (SG) Pte. Ltd. as the investor in the WHA Da Nang Industrial Park, Báo Đà Nẵng reported. Both communes were part of Quảng Nam province before it merged into Da Nang.

The infrastructure is budgeted at 2,709 billion dong, about $105 million. The investor will put in 459.24 billion dong, or 16.95%, and raise the rest, according to CafeF. Construction is split into two 200-hectare phases: the first from late 2027 to late 2030, the second from early 2031 to early 2034. The project has a 50-year term, counted from when the state leases the land.

The approval requires the developer to set aside land for worker housing and public services. The city's High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Management Board will supervise the project, VnEconomy reported.

Why it matters: this is the first step toward a large employer in the city's southern countryside. But it approves only the infrastructure investment. No tenant factories, target industries or job numbers have been announced. Land clearance, which affects the households living there, is scheduled to run alongside construction until 2031.
