The Da Nang Youth Union has launched a model called "Bản đồ xanh" (Green Map) to survey and clear waste "black spots", VOV reported on October 18.
The idea is to put polluted sites into a visual database, so local authorities can follow them, judge the results and keep the cleanup from slipping back. Youth Union members work with local government and residents, and the campaign's slogan is "Mỗi đoàn viên một hành động vì môi trường" ("each member, one action for the environment").
At the launch, members cleared one black spot in the Cẩm Lệ area and handed rubbish bins to 15 low-income households. The report does not name the ward where the bins went.
Union secretary Lê Công Hùng said the model is meant to channel young people's energy alongside officials and residents, raise awareness and stop improper dumping, particularly at local black spots.
The report gives no total number of mapped sites and does not say whether the map will be public. Those answers will show whether the Green Map is more than a launch-day cleanup.
