Da Nang's Department of Education and Training says it has dissolved 122 foreign-language centres this year because they did not meet the conditions to keep operating, Tuổi Trẻ reports. The department announced the figures in a press release on the afternoon of 3 November. The headline and lead also refer to IT centres.
From the start of 2026 to 30 October the department inspected 10 centres and dissolved 122. The report gives earlier figures of 10 dissolutions in 2024 and 19 in 2025. It does not say how many students were affected.
The department linked the push to a case at the Thiên Lập Nhân English centre, which the report says was licensed only for English courses for children but allegedly ran a general education curriculum without authorisation. Local authorities are reviewing the students who studied there and helping them find suitable arrangements.
Commune and ward authorities have been told to help screen other language and IT centres in their areas. The department is working with the Finance Department, Social Insurance and the tax authorities to check which units are still operating and to dissolve those no longer registered.
Centres must now submit reports every six months on enrolment, staff, curriculum and tuition, the department said. Parents choosing a centre for their children can ask to see its operating licence and the courses it is licensed to teach.
