Da Nang has set targets for cutting electrical fires and accidents over the next decade, Báo Đà Nẵng reports. The city People's Committee issued Plan 553/KH-UBND to carry out the National Programme on Electrical Safety in Use for 2026–2030 and 2031–2035.

For 2026–2030 the plan aims to cut fires caused by short circuits, and fatal or injurious electric shocks, by 20 per cent against 2020–2025. It also targets electrical-safety guidance for every production and business site and household, and advice or training for 80 per cent of urban households and 50 per cent of rural, mountainous, ethnic-minority and especially disadvantaged households. For 2031–2035 the reduction target rises to 50 per cent.

Measures include wider public awareness campaigns, training for management and advisory staff, more safety inspections and tighter quality control of electrical equipment on sale. The Department of Industry and Trade will monitor and evaluate results. City police will compile and classify fires and explosions linked to unsafe electricity use, and Da Nang Power Company and electricity retailers will advise residents and businesses on spotting hazards.
