Da Nang attracted US$803.9 million in foreign direct investment in the first 10 months of 2026, up 147.2% on the same period last year, Da Nang Newspaper's English edition reported on November 1. That figure covers new projects, capital increases and share purchases.

October alone brought US$117.3 million in registered foreign capital, up 166.9% year on year. Nineteen new projects were licensed in the month with US$106.2 million in registered capital, a rise of 507.3%.

New projects drive the growth

From January to October, 130 foreign-invested projects received new licences with US$629.6 million in registered capital. The number of projects rose 17.1%, while the capital they carry rose 233.2%.

New registrations made up 78.3% of all foreign capital attracted, the paper said. They added US$440.7 million compared with last year and accounted for 92% of the overall growth in foreign investment.

Domestic investment also up

Registered domestic investment, counting new and additional capital, reached VND195.6 trillion as of October 20, up 52.4% year on year. Seventy-eight newly licensed projects carried about VND102 trillion, and 31 projects that adjusted their capital totalled nearly VND94 trillion.

Capital adjustments made up 48% of the new and additional total, a higher share than in the same period of 2025. The figures are registered pledges rather than money already spent, so actual disbursement will lag behind them.
