Da Nang was pitched as a filming location at the Tokyo International Film Festival's content market, according to a report published on 30 October by Da Nang Radio and Television. The Vietnam Film Development Association opened a Vietnam pavilion at TIFFCOM 2026 on 28 October, the second year Vietnam has taken part. The market ran from 28 to 30 October.
The pavilion promoted Vietnamese cinema, filming locations and the country's policies and capacity to host international productions. Da Nang was presented alongside Quảng Ninh and Hải Phòng, with its varied settings described as suited to different genres and production scales.
The report says the city will host the fifth Da Nang Asian Film Festival, DANAFF V, in 2027. Representatives of Gateway Entertainment of Japan expressed interest in filming in Vietnam and in submitting films to DANAFF V.
TIFFCOM 2026 had 322 exhibitors and nearly 4,600 attendees from 46 countries and territories, the report says. Association chair Ngô Phương Lan said she hopes the pavilion will become a regular meeting point for Vietnamese filmmakers in Tokyo.
