Accounts on digital platforms must be linked to VNeID, Vietnam's electronic identity app, by set deadlines, Tien Phong reported on 3 November, citing Decree 320/2026 on electronic identification and authentication. The decree, which amends earlier rules, applies to accounts created before 28 September 2026.

The deadlines differ by sector. Bank accounts must be "linked and authenticated with VNeID before 30 June 2027". Securities and social media accounts created before 28 September 2026 must be linked by 31 December 2026, according to the body of the article; its opening paragraph says "the end of this year", which is the same date.

The report says the obligation covers accounts in 12 sectors: banking, securities, social media, education, telecoms, e-commerce, e-invoicing, transport, tourism, pharmacy, medical examination and treatment, and digital literacy. It adds that level-2 VNeID accounts are expected to be integrated with payment accounts and e-wallets by 2030.

The article does not say how to link an account, what happens if a deadline is missed, or whether the rules apply to foreign residents, and it does not give a guidance circular number. Readers who hold accounts in Vietnam should check with their bank or broker about the process and whether foreign nationals are covered before the deadlines.

Danang Voice has reported separately on a Ministry of Public Security proposal to show administrative penalty notices on the VNeID app.
