Da Nang is considering adding Dragon Bridge fire-and-water shows on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, on top of the current Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances. The city leadership has told two departments to prepare the change, Thanh Nien reported.
On 2 November the Da Nang People's Committee office said the chairman had asked the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Construction to work together on raising the frequency, in line with practical conditions and current rules. The instruction followed a proposal from the inland-waterway tourism transport group of the Da Nang Tourism Association.
The proposal
The businesses say river-cruise numbers on the Han River fall sharply early in the week compared with weekends. They propose shows on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday kept for maintenance.
The plan also mentions adding sound and lighting systems and linking colour-changing LED lights on the dragon's body to background music, with scripts matched to each programme.
Cost and timing
The operators propose raising the operating contribution from VND5,000 to VND10,000 per passenger on waterway tourism services. The money would cover fuel, sound and lighting equipment, maintenance, labour, fire safety and traffic control.
Under the proposed timetable, the departments would gather opinions in November 2026 and submit a summary to the city for approval. The businesses suggest a one-year trial from 1 December 2026 once the city agrees.
The proposal is still under review, and the report says it must be assessed by the authorities before it is put into effect.
