The Japan–Vietnam friendship piano concert took place on October 25 at Hội An Park in Hội An ward, Báo Đà Nẵng's English edition reported. About 700 guests attended, including local leaders, Japanese businesses, students and teachers.

The Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang organised it with the Hội An Ward People's Committee. Japanese Consul General Mori Takero spoke at the event.

Japanese pianist Asakura Sumire, born in Chiba Prefecture, played with Thai Tran Thuy Truc, a 12th-grade student at Nguyen Binh Khiem Senior High School for the Gifted in Bàn Thạch ward. The programme included works by Chopin and Ravel and Kosaburo Hirai's "Sakura-Sakura".

Our earlier announcement, based on a previous report, gave the venue as Trưng Vương Theatre in Hải Châu ward; this report places the concert in Hội An. The report says a similar concert was held in Da Nang in 2025.
