The University of Education, part of the University of Da Nang, held its 2026 ceremony for master's and doctoral graduates on 1 November and opened its 53rd postgraduate intake, Báo Đà Nẵng reports.
The newspaper says 293 students received master's degrees this year, of whom 39.2 percent were rated excellent and 55.3 percent good. Eight doctoral degrees were conferred, including three to candidates who finished in under four years.
The new intake numbers 787 master's students and 58 doctoral candidates. The school also has international postgraduates and undergraduates on its books: 12 doctoral candidates, 61 master's students and 111 full-time undergraduates, according to the report.
Rector Võ Văn Minh urged new graduates to keep building research skills and independent thinking. He told incoming postgraduates to concentrate on research rather than simply collecting degrees, encouraging them to "chủ động đặt câu hỏi, tìm tòi", or ask questions and explore on their own initiative.
Speaking for the graduates was Umvong Kiengcay, a Lao national described as the first foreign student to finish a doctorate in education management at the university. "Việt Nam đã trở thành quê hương thứ hai", he said: Vietnam has become his second homeland. He plans to apply what he learned in Laos.
