Last verified: October 13, 2026. We include restaurants whose own website or published menu, or a recent independent report, shows they're operating. Prices are in Vietnamese dong from the restaurants' published menus and will change. We haven't run taste tests, so this is a guide to what's on offer, not a ranking.

Da Nang's burger scene follows its expat map. Most of it sits around An Thượng and Mỹ An, with a second cluster in Hải Châu near the river. The smash burger took over around the time the city's foreign population grew, but you can still find a thick pub patty or a steakhouse burger cooked to order. Here's what's out there, by style.

Smash burgers

A smash burger is thin beef patties pressed hard onto a hot griddle so the edges crust and caramelize. They're usually stacked double with American cheese.

Bikini Bottom Express (45–47 An Thượng 2; 154 Trần Phú; 116 Mai Thúc Lân) The city's best-known smash-burger diner, with three Da Nang branches open from 8 a.m. Its menu gives the method:

  • 80/20 Australian beef, ground in house;
  • smashed on a flat-top;
  • served on a brioche bun baked in house.

A classic single is 75,000 dong and the namesake double, with sautéed onions and dijonnaise, is 95,000. The loaded options top out at 165,000. It also does poutine and all-day breakfast. Full story: our Bikini Bottom profile.

Chops (Lô 50 Trần Bạch Đằng, Ngũ Hành Sơn; 8 a.m.–11 p.m.) Chops is a Hanoi burger chain that now lists a Da Nang branch alongside two in Hoi An's Old Town (Chops). Its burgers come in small and regular sizes, with dine-in and members' prices on the burger menu:

  • The Chop: a Wagyu patty with tobacco onions and Chops mayo; 105,000 small, 210,000 regular.
  • The Quad Smash: four smashed patties and four slices of American cheese; 185,000 small.
  • Breakie Burger: a smashed patty with ham, egg and truffle mayo, for brunch; 170,000.
  • Truffle Cheeseburger Hotpot: a double Wagyu option with parmesan truffle cheese sauce; 280,000.

Fly Burgers (An Thượng area) A small shop near the beach that an April 2026 review by a Japanese expat blogger called one of the city's best smash burgers, for its signature "The Smash Hit". We couldn't find the shop's own website or menu, so check the map for current hours.

Pub and sports-bar burgers

Scallywags Bar and Grill (Ngô Thì Sĩ, Mỹ An) A sports bar with 4K screens, an indoor non-smoking room and a covered patio with a projector. Its best-seller list includes a smash cheeseburger made from a proprietary blend of Wagyu and Australian grass-fed beef, served with fries. Go when the match you want is on; the site publishes a sports schedule.

Gordon's New York Pizza (57 An Thượng 2; 226 Bạch Đằng) Better known for pizza, but its highlights list includes a City Smash Burger at 119,000 dong. Beachside is open until 1 a.m., which makes it one of the later burger options in An Thượng. More in our pizza guide.

Steakhouse burgers

Olivia's Prime Steakhouse (Indochina Mall, Lots G1–G4, ground floor, 74 Bạch Đằng, Hải Châu) For a burger cooked to order in a dining room rather than a diner, the hamburger section of Olivia's Prime's menu is the top of the market. Each comes with fries and as a single or double patty:

  • Classic Hamburger: 255,000 single, 350,000 double.
  • Cheddar or Blue Cheese & Bacon: 300,000 / 400,000.
  • Foie Gras Hamburger: 555,000 / 655,000.

It's on the riverfront in the same building as Pizza 4P's Indochina.

Vegetarian options

Real meat-free burgers are still scarce on Da Nang menus. Bikini Bottom's Jack in a Bun (115,000 dong) is a pulled, fried jackfruit burger with grilled mozzarella, caramelized onions and pickles. The same menu marks vegetarian sides and breakfasts, including truffle fries, an avocado toast and pancakes. Elsewhere, ask: most places on this list can do a bun-free or meat-free plate, but few print a dedicated veggie burger.

By budget and occasion

  • Under 100,000 dong: Bikini Bottom's single (75,000) or namesake double (95,000); a small The Chop at Chops (105,000).
  • Watching sport: Scallywags.
  • Late night near the beach: Gordon's Beachside, until 1 a.m.
  • Date night or a business lunch: Olivia's Prime.
  • Brunch burger: Chops' Breakie Burger.
