A Da Nang delegation visiting Australia met the University of Queensland on 4 November to discuss cooperation in bilingual education, workforce training, artificial intelligence and herbal-medicine research, Bao Da Nang reports. The delegation was led by city Party Deputy Secretary Ngo Xuan Thang and included Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu.

The university told the delegation it has about 60,000 students, more than 8,500 staff and 370,000 alumni worldwide. Thang recalled that the city's high-quality human resources centre began cooperating with the university in May 2010, and said nearly 50 city officials have studied there. In 2025 the university signed two training-link agreements with the University of Foreign Language Studies at the University of Da Nang, covering languages, communication and international relations.

Thang described the city's enlarged area since it merged with Quang Nam in July 2025 and said it wants deeper training in foreign languages and specialist skills. He also stressed the goal of making English a second language in schools and proposed specific programmes with the university.

Buu proposed joint work on researching, processing and raising the commercial value of the city's herbal-medicine resources. The head of the Da Nang high-tech and industrial parks authority, Vu Quang Hung, invited the university and its partners to link with the city's technology businesses on applied research and technology transfer. The report did not describe any signed agreement from this meeting.
