Da Nang's fishing fleet had a decent main season, Báo Đà Nẵng reported on October 26. The city's seafood catch for the first nine months of 2026 was about 106,000 tonnes, 592 tonnes more than a year earlier.

Fish made up about 82,000 tonnes, shrimp 2,200 tonnes and other seafood 21,800 tonnes. About 2,717 tonnes of squid were landed at Tam Quang and Thọ Quang ports. Offshore squid boats bring in 20-30 tonnes per trip, with trips lasting 65 to 85 days, and purse-seine and lift-net catches were reported 20-30% above previous years.

The city counts 57 offshore squid boats, 207 offshore purse-seine boats and 59 lift-net boats. Another 4,049 boats of 6 metres or longer are registered in the national fisheries database, and all offshore boats of 15 metres or more have vessel monitoring systems.

Fuel prices have raised the cost of each trip, and unstable purchase prices are cutting fishers' profits. The city has asked the national fisheries directorate to link its electronic traceability system better with the vessel-monitoring and violations databases.
